November 03: Playtech updated its Poker Client Software
Online Poker software provider Playtech, which powers some of the internet most popular Internet poker rooms, such as Casino Tropez, Titan Poker and Europa Casino, has announced the release of an upgraded version of its signature poker client.
The new client has already been deployed on iPoker, which Playtech claims to be the world's largest poker network, boasting more than 35.000 players.
The new client boasts an innovative, intuitive design and a variety of exciting fresh tools and features, Playtech said in a news release. The new poker lobby welcomes players with an appealing, userfriendly interface. Improved, easy-to navigate search options enable players to find their game of choice fast and simply from a menu of cash tables, tournaments and casino side games.”
Claiming that the new design was created with player convenience in mind, Playtech lists as one of the most significant improvements a new multi-currency option, which makes funds available in British Pounds, US-Dollars, and Euro. This lets a wide variety of international players pass the the currency conversion process and play with their own currency or the most easiest.
There are also more new functions added to make online poker for the poker players even more comfortable.

Group estimates amount U.S. Government could make billions.
November 03, 2009 (Planet Casino World News): Coming at a time when the debate over whether or not the legalize (also regulate and tax) online gambling in the United States has reached a critical point, a non-for-profit, independent group has released a statement announcing the government stands to make tens of billions of dollars in tax revenue from that enterprise.
The United States most influential financial publication, the Wall Street Journal, quoting from the Dow Jones newswire, has published a report stating that the measures in the U.S. Congress “decriminalizing many forms of Internet gambling would raise nearly $42 billion for the U.S. Treasury over the next decade”.
The analyzis comes from the Joint Committee on Taxation, a group that stands independently from any online casino advocacy group. The report states, that legalizing online gambling “would generate $41.8 billion over 10 years.”
