Just imagine, you’re waiting for your room service at your favorite hotel at Las Vegas and you’re allowed to play blackjack on your mobile device, while you’re waiting. This is reality now, as the Nevada Gaming Commission now were permitting gambling on mobile phones etc. in hotel rooms.
The background is, until now gaming at public areas (like at the pool) is restricted, the same it was before for locations like hotel rooms. But the new Nevada Gaming Commission’s amendment extends mobile gaming to such areas, it wasn’t previously allowed. And this includes hotel rooms now.
Of course also many other laws changed or be new: betting kiosks at public locations requiring casinos are used to find new ways of reporting gambling revs.
But anyway for casino operators this for sure is a step, they like, as now, because of the new laws, much more casino players can play much more time, what also means an increase of the generated revenue.
Before they are allowed to offer this news services, they have to uphold state gaming laws, what will be checked by the State Gaming Control Board. This also means to use a practice from keeping minors away having access to mobile gambling applications. So the software technologies used by the casino operators has to be reviewed by the gaming commission first to get such a license.
So as this still has to be developed, it is completely unclear, how and if casino players take this. But we will see. For sure it is also interesting, as all different casino operators for sure also try different techniques to fulfill the requirements.
Some casinos will clearly implement more effective measures than others. What those measures will be remains to be seen.
It’s still unclear how players will receive this new law and what impact it will have.
